Comics Review : Green Lanterns Volume One: Rage Planet : DC Comics (2017)

Hello Lanterns and DC Comics Fans , Here is my review of Green Lanterns Volume One: Rage Planet Trade Paperback from DC Comics DC Rebirth. 1st a description of the story : In these stories from GREEN LANTERNS: REBIRTH #1 and GREEN LANTERN #1-6, new Green Lanterns Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz begin a new era of emerald excitement, tackling the universe’s toughest beat: Earth. These rookie Lanterns promised to protect others in brightest day or blackest night, but as the ‘Red Planet’ begins to rise, the duo finds themselves confronted with the unimaginable threat of Bleez and the Red Lanterns! Now on to my review of this 1st volume of Green Lanterns from DC Rebirth , Green Lanterns Volume One: Rage Planet is written by Sam Humphries with artwork by Robson Rocha , Ethan Van Sciver and a number of other artists. This new addition to the Green Lantern collection of characters features the new Green Lanterns Jessica Cruz and Simon Baz and their 1st adventures together but it is really more of a beginning story for Jessica Cruz and her journey of self discovery being a Green Lantern. Through out the story they have many adventures with it all leading to a battle with the Red Lanterns and the main villain of the story. And lots of action , drama and emotion happens in this 1st story arc and ends with a cliffhanger. Now I will be the 1st to admit I was not a huge fan of Green Lantern and the Green Lantern Corps but after reading Green Lantern Rebirth , Hal Jordan and The Green Lantern Corps also this 1st Volume of Green Lanterns I became a fan of The Green Lanterns instantly. What Sam Humphries does with his writing and in the artwork by Robson Rocha and Ethan Van Sciver is they give you a sense of what is going through the minds of Jessica and Simon and the dangers the face being a Lantern. Also the panels in this 1st volume amazingly well done. Extra that are included in this 1st volume are some variant covers and some concept drawings by Ethan Van Sciver of Jessica Cruz. Overall I give Green Lanterns Volume One: Rage Planet a 9/10 a great 1st volume of Green Lanterns and it is highly recommended reading if your a Green Lantern Fan.
