Comics Review : Aquaman Volume One : The Drowning : DC Comics (2017)

Hello Atlantians and DC Comics Fans , Here is my review of Aquaman Volume One : The Drowning Trade Paperback from DC Comics DC Rebirth. 1st a description of the story : Aquaman, the King of Atlantis, has never found a true home in either of the worlds that he was born of. In these tales from AQUAMAN: REBIRTH #1 and issues #1-7 of the new series, the King of Atlantis attempts to broker a peace between Atlantis and the surface, but this noble quest might force Aquaman to choose whether to live his life above the waves, or below them. Plus, Black Manta makes his bloody return and seeks to destroy everything and everyone Aquaman loves. Now on to my review of this 1st volume of Aquaman from DC Rebirth , Aquaman Volume One : The Drowning is written by Dan Abnett with artwork by Scott Eaton , Brad Walker , Phil Briones and a number of other artists and colorist. Now I must admit I was not a huge fan of Aquaman prior to DC Rebirth. Sure I’ve read’ed some of The New 52 and Pre New 52 Aquaman that being said after reading this 1st Aquaman DC Rebirth Trade Paperback I became a fan of the character. Aquaman  : The Drowning  gets us up to speed with what has been going on with Aquaman Arthur Curry , Mera and the evil Black Manta in DC Rebirth and the way this story is told is amazing. It starts out with what has been going on with Arthur and Mera’s relationship and then in the next few issues a battle between Aquaman Vs Black Manta happens then the U.S. Government get evolved and says wait slow down Aquaman then Superman tries to stop Arthur and Mera but it’s no use and then Black Manta’s ploting of his master plan is coming ahead and this 1st volume ends on a cliffhanger and that is how this 1st volume ends. The writing by Dan Abnett combined with the artwork in this story is amazing one of the best artwork from a DC Comics story I’ve ever seen and as fan who was not sold on Aquaman going in and I am now he’s a cool hero. Extras that are included in this 1st volume of Aquaman are some variant covers , concept paintings of the new looks for the characters. Overall I give Aquaman Volume One : The Drowning from DC Rebirth a 9/10 a great 1st volume and it’s highly recommended if your a huge Aquaman fan.
