Yet the simple belief in good can still empower ordinary individuals to rise and meet the greatest challenges. So return to that galaxy far, far away, and prepare yourself for what happens when the Force awakens. . . . Now on to my review of the the novelization Warning Full Spoilers To Follow , now before we get into the in depth review let me talk about a few things. 1st when it was announced back at Star Wars Celebration in April of 2015 at the Del Ray Books Panel that Alan Dean Foster was going to write The novelization for The Force Awakens. It at 1st gathered a mix reaction from the star wars fan community a lot of fans welcomed him coming back to star wars literature and writing for The Canon aka Story Group Canon while others where like really Alan Dean Foster? After all Alan Dean Foster had ghost written the original novelization of Star Wars in 1976 From The Adventures of Luke Skywalker , Splinter of the Mind’s Eye (1978) and The Attack of The Clones Prequel The Approaching Storm (2002) his writing has gotten in mix reaction from some fans over the years. So the question was which Alan Dean Foster where we going to get for novelization for The Star Wars Force Awakens? I am happy to say the good Alan Dean Foster and his touch is represented here in this novelization. Now I have been a fan of Alan Dean Foster and his writing going back to his days writing his not only 3 now 4 Star Wars Novels that I mention already plus his work on other Sci-FI stories like the novelizations for Alien and Aliens. The Force Awakens novelization adds depth to a already great movie and add while not a lot some background information on some of the story of the film and additional details that where not made clear in the finished movie. Like for example the big action scenes and big moments in the film like when Rey discovers Luke Skywalker’s blue lightsaber and the fight between Fin , Rey and Kylo Ren seeing in on the page in the novelization when you read it you are blown away. The other things like Fin’s conflict at the start of the movie played out more in the novelization. I could go on and on about how good the novelization of Star Wars The Force Awakens is. Alan Dean Foster did a great job of doing a hard and difficult task of taking the script of Star Wars The Force Awakens and turning into a novelization and Del Ray Books did a good job as well. Now how does this novelization rank compared to the other Star Wars Film Novelizations? I would rank it 2nd behind Matthew Stover’s novel of Revenge of The Sith while it does not have the Stover Effect it is a good novelization and it’s a good read. I should note that when you buy the novelization the standard edition you will get 8 photos inside the book however when you buy The Barnes & Noble Exclusive Edition you will get a more photos bring the total to 16. Overall I give the novelization of Star Wars The Force Awakens by Alan Dean Foster a 9/10 a great read and if you have seen Star Wars The Force Awakens and want to know more this is the one to get. This is the novelization your looking for. MTFBWY!!!
